The Wonder Caves of Ziama Mansouriah
Caves full of stalactites and stalagmites, found in 1917 on the corniche road, about 35 km west of Jijel.
The Wonder Caves are Jijel’s most famous attraction. They lie in Ziama Mansouriah, about 35 km west of Jijel on the RN 43 road to Béjaïa, and were discovered in 1917 while that road was being cut between mountain and sea.
Inside, a large chamber is decorated with stalactites and stalagmites shaped by water over thousands of years; visitors see forms like the Leaning Tower of Pisa or camel feet. The temperature stays around 18 °C all year, a cool break in high summer.
